Visit from Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Agriculture


At the end of January, we received a delegation led by Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Batshan. He expressed his conviction that the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bulgaria in the agrarian sector should be strengthened. He also assured us that farms in Saudi Arabia value high-quality Bulgarian alfalfa.

American farmers


A group of farmers from America visited our farm and became familiar with the specifics of agriculture in Bulgaria. We talked about the differences in grain production and alfalfa production in both countries. We had talks on agricultural policy, both Bulgarian and European.

The first irrigation systems


Today we received the first Pivot irrigation systems, individually designed for our needs. We chose the leader in the production of centre Pivot and linear irrigation systems - Valley. This is the first step in the implementation of our strategy for irrigating alfalfa fields to increase yields and added value.

Alfalfa campaign 2018


The campaign on alfalfa harvesting and dehydration has begun on our farm. Several CLAAS self-loading trailers were added to the machinery park, given the increased alfalfa areas. Favourable agro-climatic conditions help to the timely harvest of alfalfa from the field, which in turn ensures that it is of excellent quality.

A visit from UK farmers


On 16th April 2018, we had a visit from a group of farmers from the UK to exchange experience. They were interested in looking not only at our factory, but the plots of land we cultivate and the machinery park as well. Their questions were related to how many employees work in a high tech enterprise like ours and whether we have difficulty in hiring staff.

A visit from Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company


In the middle of April, we had a visit from SALIC (Saudi Farm and Animal Breeding Investment Company), established as a Saudi joint-stock company owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund. Its activity is in the field of investment in agricultural and livestock production in countries that have a competitive advantage in their contribution to the production of selected foodstuffs and their availability for export markets. They expressed interest in future cooperation with our company.

International Agricultural Exhibition Agra 2018, Plovdiv


On 22nd and 23rd February we visited the International Agricultural Exhibition Agra in Plovdiv. This is the 27th edition, organised by the International Fair Plovdiv under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria. Nearly 500 companies from over 20 countries took part.

We became acquainted with current trends in agribusiness and created new business contacts. International Fair Plovdiv is among the leaders of the exhibition industry in Southeastern Europe.

AGROEXPO 2018, Izmir, Turkey


We visited Agroexpo 2018 which took place from 01 to 04 February in Izmir, Turkey. It is the largest agro exhibition in Turkey and one of the largest in the world. More than 850 companies from 60 countries participated. We met with leading livestock farms and feed manufacturers from Europe and the Middle East.

AGRITECHNICA 2017, Hanover, Germany


Тhe management team visited Agritechnica, the international forum for agricultural machinery, which is organized every two years in Hanover, Germany. With over 2800 participating companies from 53 countries and 450000 visitors, Agritechnica is the world's largest forum for agricultural machinery. This year's edition highlights the innovation in agriculture and agrarian technology under the motto Green Future - Smart Technology.
We took a number of meetings and considered the innovations that were presented to plan and implement long-term optimization of production on our farm.

Bulgarian-Iranian business forum and B2B meetings, Sofia, 13.11.2017


We visited the Bulgarian-Iranian business forum held in Sofia on November 13th, whose aim was to promote the bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The Iranian business delegation included dairy companies. We presented our alfalfa as an indispensable part of the diet of any high yielding dairy animal.

Animallantalya, Antalya, Turkey


At the end of October, we visited the Animallantalya exhibition in Antalya, Turkey, which takes place every two years and marks the pace of development and modernization of the livestock sector in our southern neighbour. Participants and visitors commented on the livestock farming methods and livestock diet of local farmers, as well as the steady increase in consumption of meat and dairy products in the country. The topic of long queues at the border checkpoints that impede commodity exchange between the two sides was also touched upon.

We follow closely the development of the livestock sector because Turkey is one of the main markets of our alfalfa.



We took part in CHINA - CEEC INVESTMENT AND TRADE EXPO in June. We presented our new factory, showing clearly that now we are in a position to supply with pure alfalfa even more territorially distant markets like the Chinese. There was a huge interest.

A visit from Australian and New Zealand farmers


Our company was visited by fellow farmers from Australia and New Zealand. After seeing the factory and the machine park, we discussed the opportunities and challenges facing farmers in Bulgaria. We shared experiences and ideas.

Grain Academy 2016


The trading team of AJD AGRO Ltd. took part in the first of a kind Grain Academy in Bulgaria

Grain Academy 2016 is the first grain conference in Bulgaria and a place for analysis, discussions and meetings on the local grain and oilseeds markets, which was attended by first-class speakers and analysts from some of the most prestigious institutions and companies from Bulgaria, France, USA, Ukraine, Turkey, Ireland, etc. They presented the latest trends on the specific markets of wheat, barley, corn, sunseeds and rapeseeds.

Young Eurofarmer of Bulgaria 2016


Andrei Machuganov won the award for “Young Eurofarmer of Bulgaria” for 2016 in a competition, organized by “Agribusiness” magazine.

The annual award is being held for 16 years in a row and agricultural producers, farming companies and companies involved in the agricultural sector compete for the prize. The nomination is made by the magazine and the winner is chosen by the readers.

Harvest season opening 2016


Today, 20.06.2016, with a celebration and ceremony harvest season 2016 was officially started! We wish all agricultural producers a flawless campaign, high yields, and competitive prices!

BATA Agro 2016


The production and agronomy specialists from AJD AGRO visited the biggest exhibition for agricultural machinery in Bulgaria - BATA Agro in Stara Zagora, held between 8th - 12th of March 2016.

Besides the bad weather the exhibition was a huge success. The accent was the incoming spring campaign.


During the exhibition the manager of AJD AGRO, who serves as a President of Lovech Grain Producers association and is a member of the Chairmen board of the National Grain Producers Association, participated in the annual election and report meeting of NGPA.

Visit at AGRA 2016, Plovdiv


The managing team of AJD AGRO visited AGRA 2016 exhibition. The international agricultural expo is the largest agribusiness platform in Southeast Europe. The 25th annual AGRA took place between 24 - 28 February 2016.

AGRA is being organised by International Fair Plovdiv under the support of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria with cooperation of Agricultural Academy. It is approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) - a proof that the expo is being organised by world standards.
